Why I am interested in the programme?

I have asked myself why I would want to do a degree course in Art a number of times. I just feel that it has been something that I have been interested in since a young age, therefore it would be a suitable route for me to take. I have always been creative and used Art as a way to express my self and show my opinions. I also enjoy photography and I have taken shots of everyday life and reflect this in my work. I am also particularly interested in feelings and emotions felt by individuals and believe work of Art always should hold a meaning. In addition, my aim throughout my work is to influence people to question what my work represents. Throughout my work I have focused on meaningful themes which are connected in some way, to people of society. Furthermore, at university I will look forward to building on my experiences in Art and also developing my knowledge as this in the future will enhance my career options.

'Voyeurism'
This is the project I am
working on at the moment.
I want people to feel as if this is
forbidden access as this
is invading ones privacy.
However, people will be still
persuaded to have a peek
on whats going on.

'Mysterious woman'

Painting I have produced
through the influence of
my photography. I have
used dark shades of colour
to form a sense of mystery.
This is a textured piece of
work, as I have used plaster
and scunched up paper
for the figure to stand out.

This is painted on wood,
shows people doing their
normal routines, activities
and jobs.

'A good ice cream'
This is a painting on canvas,
using a range of blues
and purples overlapped
over one another to show
where the light is captured.
